Dr. Wenzell obtained her BA in psychology from Binghamton University. She then received her Masters in Medical Sciences with honors from Boston University School of Medicine.

She was awarded an Army Health Profession Scholarship as she donned both a uniform and a stethoscope and received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She completed a Surgical Tract Transitional internship at Madigan Army Medical Center and then served as the Division Preventive Medicine Officer, Flight Surgeon and ultimately the 1st Brigade Surgeon for the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas.  Once she completed her 2-year utilization tour, she returned to Madigan Army Medical Center to complete her OB/Gyn residency and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship.

She served her country for 15 years before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel and matriculating into private practice. She still serves as Clinical Associate Professor Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Washington and Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland.  Lucky for you, she loves to give mock oral exams. You might not agree with this windfall initially, but you will later when you heed her advice.
