Dr. Milian attended medical school at the University of Miami and completed her residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, one of the largest public hospitals in the nation. She has been working in the private sector for over 15 years. Currently, she is working as a locum tenens. At this point in her career, she has worked everywhere and anywhere including abroad. She has worked in all types of settings to include solo and multi-specialty groups, Laborist, Indian Health Services, Military contractor, and Academic Programs.
Dr. Milian’s path to Board Certification was in a word, unique. Because of the daunting nature of the Oral Exam, she avoided it like the plague. Thus, she took the Written Boards in order to maintain her Board Eligibility in 2001, 2007, and 2013 and passed each and every time. When ABOG changed its bylaws and required taking the Oral Boards within eight years of completing residency, she was forced to finally sit for the Oral Boards which she passed on her first attempt, more than 10 years after completing her residency.
So, Dr. Milian definitely brings a different perspective to preparing for the Boards. She is editor of ABC’s Gynecology-Surgery Written Question Manual.
