Uma Chandavarkar, MD, FACOG

Dr. Chandavarkar is a board-certified gynecologic oncologist with expertise in minimally invasive surgery techniques and treatment of all stages of cancer of the female reproductive tract. She is delighted to be back home in the Bay Area after 4 years in a busy solo private practice in the Seattle area. Dr. Chandavarkar earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Los Angeles County Medical Center/ University of Southern California. Staying at USC, she completed her 3-year subspecialty fellowship in gynecologic oncology. Dr. Chandavarkar has received the Outstanding Scientific Research Endeavor Award from the USC Obstetrics & Gynecology Fellowships for her work in epigenetics and ovarian cancer, and in 2008, was awarded the Leadership Award from the USC Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program, where she served as a Chief Resident. She is a Full Member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology and is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Chandavarkar believes that all women deserve world-class medical care and strives to be their strongest advocate. In her free time, she enjoys international travel, digital photography, and spending time with family and friends.
