Saju Joy, MD, MS, FACOG

Dr. Joy earned a BS in Computer Engineering and graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina State University. Since that was so much fun, he branched out and obtained a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering.  You can only take so much of the engineering stuff, so he saw the light and went to medical school at the University of North Carolina.  Dr. Joy completed his OB/GYN residency at University of Florida and then migrated north to Ohio State for his Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship. After being all over the map for training, he returned to North Carolina to practice. He is double board certified in OB/GYN and MFM and is the Medical Director of the Women’s Institute, Division Chief of MFM at the Carolinas Medical Center and a Clinical Associate Professor at University of North Carolina.  Oh, and in his spare time, he recently obtained his MBA - in case you have any business questions. Dr. Joy is a peer reviewer for five journals and has received numerous teaching awards, ranging from undergraduate all the way to faculty.  You may recognize Dr. Joy in our teaching videos of the ABC example of the “right way” to answer when taking your oral exam.
