Test Taking Skills Workshop Prepares You for Your AOBOG OCC Exams Above: Martin and Jane Jolley Martin and Jane have created, specifically for ABC participants, a four hour evening workshop during the ABC course and a four hour workshop at the conclusion of the ABC course. This workshop will help you identify possible error patterns in your processing of questions as well as help you develop a logical, systematic and thoughtful method for answering questions in timely fashion. They will also address other concerns such as reading difficulties and test taking anxieties. At the conclusion of the workshop, you will have a focused strategy for answering questions and a method for monitoring your test-taking accuracy. There is a separate fee for the workshop which also includes a link for you to make a "Personalized Relaxation Audio Download for CD or mp3." The Relaxation Audio can be purchased separately at the web site listed below. A minimum number of participants (10 for each session) is required for the workshops to be provided.

"Best money I've spent yet (except for the course!!) " "Very good in focusing on what the question is asking and especially at deciphering between ACOG answer & clinical experience answer." "Best $ ever spent for an exam. This was very helpful to me. In fact, I think this was the best part of the course. The questions were similar to the exam (as I have unfortunately taken it before) and explanations were detailed in all groups." "It helped me to break down questions and approach them systematically." "This workshop was great -- it helped to talk it out with others -- hear how they processed material. I would recommend this to anyone taking the boards." "Taught me excellent tips on better test taking techniques. I found the elimination method for multiple choice questions especially helpful" -- CA 4/09 "Now WHY in all my years of schooling, has no one given a lecture on how to analyze how to take a test? THANK YOU - I guess better late than never." "Thank you for creating an environment that was comfortable and collegial. I also learned a great deal from my colleagues too" -- Sep 08 "Your workshop really helped. I failed the written boards the first time by a couple of points. This time I got 30 points higher (and of course I passed). I honestly don't believe I had more fundamental knowledge (I felt I was prepared the first time), but I felt more in control using your test taking skills strategies. It took me longer to finish the exam, but I was calmer and felt like I answered the questions more efficiently." "I learned that I know the material, but I don't know how to answer questions. This will be my endeavor for the next 2½ months." April 2010 "Thank you for suggesting that I speak to the Jolleys about getting a refresher for their study skills course. I believe that their methodology made a great difference in how I took the exam this year. I had taken their course in 2008 and had missed passing by two points. I hoped that 2009 would be my year, but I did not use the method at all and my score reflected it. Even though we did not get our actual number score this year I was pretty confident when I walked out the door that I had passed, because this time I used the Jolley method for every single question. It WORKS when you truly use it." -- EB August 2010 | ||||||||
